Tuesdays, 10 am - 10:45 am
An engaging program for little ones 1-3 years, using songs, rhymes, and movement, fostering play skills and love for books. Each session is filled with interactive activities for toddlers and their caregivers. Join us for a fun-filled experience that nurtures creativity, curiosity, and a sense of community in our youngest learners. Lani Comfort MS OTR/L, BCP is a board-certified pediatric occupational therapist with 15+ yearsโ€™ experience facilitating early childhood development.

๐Ÿถ+๐Ÿ“– Paws to Read
Thursdays 4-5 pm and the second Saturday 10-11 am
We are pleased that Go Team Therapy Dogs will be sending a handler and dog to our children's section, where kids will be encouraged to read books to the dogs. Go Team is an elite, highly trained group dedicated to placing well-trained, certified therapy dog teams in programs that provide comfort and care through the canine-human bond. On the first Thursday of every month, retired teacher Sue McTigue brings her ten-year-old toy fox terrier to the library. On the other days, various teams (handler and dog) will take turns coming. Kids might get to pet a spaniel mix, a Bernese Mountain Dog, a sheltie, or an Aussie, to name a few!

Thursdays, 10:30 am - 11 am
Storytime engages children through stories, songs, rhymes, and movement, provides literacy and language development opportunities, and helps foster socialization skills. โ€œMiss Cyndeโ€ worked for many years in a public library setting focusing on programming and services for children, teens, and families, and is excited to share her love of stories and reading. Appropriate for children ages 3-7 along with their caregiver.

๐Ÿงธ+โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน Storytime and Teddy Bear Triage with Nurse Kati and Nurse Heide NEW
Three Wednesdays during the summer, 10:00 am - 10:30 am
June 25, July 30 and August 13
Kati Stolz-Grindinger and Heide Gunn, from the Colorado Emergency Nurses' Association (Pediatric Committee), will come to the library and read a book about going to the doctor or hospital, followed by a time of helping the kids wrap their stuffed animals' pretend injuries with soft bandages. Appropriate for ages 3-7 (but all ages are welcome). Please have each child bring his or her favorite Teddy Bear or other stuffed animal.

๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿช‡ Spanish Storytime with Claudine Butler NEW
Thursdays, 11:15 am - 11:45 am (Starting on June 26)
Claudine was born and raised in Peru and came to the United States when she was 10 years old. She worked in finance for several years leading the Spanish department before deciding to stay at home with her kids. Claudine loves children's books and enjoys reading them to children. Based on her own experience Claudine recognizes that exposing young children to a different language allows them to develop deeper cognitive, social, and cultural skills.
Targeted for children ages 2-5 along with a parent or caregiver. Older Siblings are welcome to join, too.

๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ”ข Summer Math Tutoring with Jacquie Ostrom, Jim Densmore, and Lynne VanArnsdale

All levels are welcome. There is no cost for participants. Our work together will be guided by the materials students bring to work on, so the time we spend is tailored to the students' needs. Students are asked to bring pencils, paper, eraser, a straight edge, and a cell phone.

Students: We are using SignUpGenius for this summer program. Please click here to sign up for a tutoring session. We kindly request that students sign up at least 48 hours in advance (the more notice the instructors have, the better). If you need to cancel, please also give at least 48 hours' notice.

About the tutors: Jacquie taught all levels of math at Pikes Peak Community College. She has a master's degree in counseling. Jim is retired from systems engineering and software development. His undergraduate degree is in mathematics, and he holds an MS degree in computer science. He has tutored math at Palmer High School. He is currently a course director for the STEM education organization Falcon Aerolab. Lynne's education includes a BA and MS in engineering, as well as an MBA and a master's in health information technology. She retired this year after an extensive career in product management. From time to time, she has tutored math and English.

๐ŸŽฒ Math Games with Jamie Sprague NEW
Two Tuesdays during the summer, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
July 8 and July 22
Jamie Sprague, owner/director of Mathnasium at Rockrimmon, will teach kids some fun games using cards and dice. The games are easy to learn and easy to level up. Appropriate for elementary school students: addition and subtraction for grades K-2 and multiplication and division for grades 3-5.

๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ Yoga Stretching and Meditation with certified instructor Jacquie Ostrom
Wednesdays 12 pm - 1 pm
We'll do eight easy yoga stretches that help us release energetic blocks to make it comfortable to enjoy relaxed, guided, sitting meditation. The easy yoga stretches can be modified to meet everyone's needs. They can even be done in a chair. The guided meditation steps are soothing and help you release stress to go deep within and find peace. Handouts for the yoga stretches and meditation steps will be provided so you can also practice on your own. Please bring your own yoga mat, or you can sit in a chair.

๐Ÿง˜ Yoga with certified instructor Svetlana Nudelman
Tuesdays, 10 am - 11 am
Yoga for beginners and intermediate levels. Svetlana says: When I teach, it is more about self-esteem, confidence, emotional strength, balance, and flexibility than mastering different asanas. Physical practice is the way to discover your true self and liberate yourself from self-doubt and wrong beliefs about your limitations. After completing 200 hours of training, Svetlana received her yoga teacher certificate in 2018. You can learn more about her in this article.

๐Ÿ“š+๐Ÿ’ฌ Book Club with Leonie Cramer
The first Thursday of each month, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
This group will read a variety of fiction and non-fiction books, as well as invite guest speakers. Participants will take turns leading the discussion. Please note: This book club is currently full (capped at 13 members). ๐Ÿงถ Crafting Group with LuAnn Weems
Wednesdays 10 am - 11 am (once per month; dates will vary; please check calendar)
From LuAnn: Crafting has been a part of my life since I was a little girl growing up on a farm in Minnesota. Crafting takes many forms, and it is relaxing and food for the soul. However, if you are creative, join our informal group with your project. We can also discuss sources of materials for your crafting, answer questions, and share information about other groups meeting around the area. If you wish to bring your beverage, please do so (water, soda, coffee, or tea).

The first & third Tuesdays of each month, 11 am - 12 pm
An informal group that will not always have a designated leader. The group previously called Senior Chat Group will now be called "Conversations and Coffee.โ€ We will gather in the church's lobby and add chairs as needed. Participants are invited to show up and exchange ideas, stories, etc. Please bring your own coffee mug.

Thursdays, 10:00 am - 10:00 am
Claudine was born and raised in Peru and came to the United States when she was 10 years old. Claudine enjoys speaking with others in her first language as she doesn't get the chance to do it often. This time will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their Spanish speaking skills with others in a supportive environment. We will start our practice by having everyday conversations and transition to playing games and other activities that foster vocabulary, creative thinking, and communication skills.
