Join Us for an Interactive Poetry Session with Robin Izer at Reading at the Rock Library
Reading at the Rock is pleased to welcome local poet Robin Izer for an interactive poetry session on Wednesday, April 1, from 12:30–2:00 p.m.
Together, we’ll explore questions such as: What is poetry? How did it originate? What does it look and feel like? We’ll read and discuss a few classic poems, with plenty of opportunity for participant feedback and conversation.
Participants are also invited to bring a poem to share. If you bring one, please be prepared to say a few words about why it is meaningful to you.
All levels of familiarity with poetry are welcome -- whether you’re a longtime reader or completely new to poetry.
Robin Izer is the author of four books of poetry, including Hymns from the Earth, Visions of New Being, Wisdom Haiku & Other Poems, and Heart Knowledge.
New to Poetry? Start Here
If you’d like ideas for a poem to bring, try browsing Poets.org, the Poetry Foundation, or the Library of Congress Poetry & Literature audio archives. You’re welcome to bring a classic favorite, something contemporary, or simply listen and explore.
