PPLD is sending us a bookmobile! February 21st will be their first day!

It will be parked at the Wilson Ranch Park, 2335 Allegheny Drive every Friday, 10:00 to 4:00 PM.

  • Rockrimmon Interim Library will be closed on Fridays so EVERYONE can enjoy the bookmobile experience.

  • Please, let’s welcome them in a BIG WAY on Feb.21!

    • Email bookmobile@ppld.org and change your pickup location to Wilson Ranch Park.

    • You can now put books and other things on hold! Give it a try! If you choose something that is presently available at another location, it will be ready for pickup at the bookmobile!

    • If you have been checking things out at 21C, you can now return them at the Bookmobile! I expect that many of us have been waiting for this day.

    • A PPLD librarian will be there to answer your questions, allow you to pay fines, register a new library card, replace a lost one, etc.

    • Seniors and all, it should be ADA accessible, so please come!

    • While their collection will be smaller than a regular library, it will be curated carefully and I’m sure that all of us can find a few books to check out.

    • PLEASE bring your children after school gets out, as you used to do at Rockrimmon Library. They will want to pick up books, too. I know that the schedule is tight (Foothills Elementary gets out at 3:50), but let’s try to get there, showing that our children also miss their library.

    • Feel free to come more than once. For instance, I plan to take my preschoolers first thing, then my older grandchild once school gets out.

    • There might be a line, as it is hard to think of a location which used to have approx. 300 patrons/day being accommodated by a bookmobile. The line will only show that, while we are THRILLED to have this bookmobile, it will most likely not be the final solution for our area. I can imagine that this might end up looking like a peaceful protest to some, but let’s simply state our need, and be super kind to the librarians on the bookmobile.
